4am this morning in Ballycotton as barrels of rain fell from the sky and the wind howled its head off, I rambled into an empty house I was being put up in and the stereo in the kitchen caught my eye. I was intrigued to know what was in the cd player by pressing play! I do like this song. I think it’s by the Byrds. Or something like that. 😉

Back in Butlins, Mosney in 19 and 82. I think my togs went missing that day. I had a pair of Blue and Yellow speedos. They were my lucky togs. You should’ve seen them ones! 🤣

The rain poured out of the sky in barrels. Thank God we were under a roof. Big thanks to @andrewfletchermusic and the lads from Glory Days the @springsteen Irish Tribute band for the great jamming session afterwards. We could’ve sang til the cows came home. X

Liam was a man I used to sit beside in my local. He was such a lovely quiet and gentle man and he’d always give me a big greeting and a brief chat. Then he’d leave at my puzzle and I’d leave him at his newspaper. He passed after the first sip of a pint in my local a couple of hours after he’d a meal and a couple with his family. Then he walked back down for a night cap and that was the end. He was around 84years and wasn’t ill or in a nursing home. I thought… what a way to go so I wrote this off the cuff and was honoured to read it at his funeral on Monday morning. Too many lovely people passing and sorrow around the world. My condolences to them all. ❤️
